Honey Nut Bread

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter,  melted
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans


  1. Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan (I use butter). Preheat oven to 325°f 
  2. Whisk flour,  baking powder,  baking soda,  salt in a medium bowl until blended

  3. Beat egg in a separate bowl until light yellow. Beat in milk, honey, and butter.

  4. Mix liquid ingredients in with the dry ones until just blended. Fold in walnuts or pecans.

  5. Pour batter into greased pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 55-65 minutes.

  6.  Allow to cool slightly before removing from the pan.
